Песков: Минпросвещения уполномочено принимать решение об уроках истории в первых классах

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the idea of studying history from the 1st grade, noted that seven-year-old children are interested in the same thing as everyone else, and the Ministry of Education is empowered to make such decisions.

Earlier, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kravtsov, announced that learning history in Russian schools would start from the first grade. Now students start learning this subject from the fifth grade.

“No, why are seven-year-olds also interested in absolutely everything — just like adults. And our Ministry of Education is absolutely empowered to make such decisions. And they exercise their powers, ”said Peskov, answering the question of whether the Kremlin considers it reasonable and whether it is still too early for the seven-year-olds.

Answering the question of what history can first-graders be taught then, Peskov said that specialists should decide about it.

“The most important thing is (history) of the motherland. We have a rich history. But the rest should be decided by specialists, ”said RIA Novosti.
