The publication notes that the tax deduction for the purchase or construction of an apartment is 13% and is calculated on the amount of 2 million rubles, even if the apartment or house is more expensive and the limit on the payment of mortgage interest is 3 million rubles. It turns out that in this way you can recover a maximum of 260,000. rubles for an apartment or house and up to 390 thousand. rubles if you take out a mortgage.

“Since the (current) limits of 2 and 3 million rubles were set for property tax deductions when buying an apartment and paying off mortgage interest, housing prices have risen significantly. The ruble is difficult even in the regions, let alone in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Tatiana Butskaya, the first vice-chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, told the newspaper.

According to her, the limit for the construction or purchase of an apartment will be 4 million rubles, and for mortgage repayment — 6 million rubles, thanks to which it will be possible to return 520 thousand and 780 thousand rubles, respectively.

Izvestia notes that MPs are also proposing to extend the deduction from personal income tax to housing rental expenses, which will allow people signing long-term leases to compensate for up to 1.5 months of rent per year, Interfax reports.
