The audience of the Metropolitan Opera, who came to listen to the opera «Eugeniusz Onegin» on Sunday, did not agree whether it was worth interfering in politics and art in relations with Russia against the background of the events in Ukraine, reported the RIA Nowosti correspondent.
On the eve of the «Metropolitan Opera», he again showed the play «Eugene Onegin» to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The parts in it are performed in Russian. The performance itself is staged in collaboration with the theater and the English National Opera.
One of the employees of the cultural institution, in an interview with RIA Novosti, noted that Russians regularly visit her theater. According to the woman, the current political situation has not influenced the attitude to the culture of Russia.
Professor Linda Milton, however, has a different point of view. She said that the abandonment of some Western venues from the appearance of Russian artists is beyond rational norms. Linda Milton explained that such actions violate absolutely all manifestations of freedom. And mixing politics with art is unacceptable.
