The head of the government of the Chechen Republic, Muslim Chuczyev, discussed the construction of a new standard infectious disease hospital with 400 beds in Grozny.
According to him, there are no institutions of infectious diseases in the republic.
«The necessity to build a medical facility is due to the lack of space in the Republican Clinical Center of Infectious Diseases, where medical care is provided in the field of infectious diseases,» noted M. Chuchiev.
He added that the budget request had already been sent to the relevant federal agency.
“At this stage, the project cost estimate was completed and, in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the budget application for this facility was sent within the established time frame for inclusion in the Federal Objective of the Investment Program. Based on the results of the medical-technical order as well as design and cost documentation, the Ministry of Health of Russia submitted a conclusion on the feasibility and legitimacy of building the facility, ”added M. Chuchiev.
It should be noted that currently the total number of beds for infectious diseases in the Chechen Republic is 410. There are almost 2.8 times fewer beds per 10,000 inhabitants, while the estimated demand is 5.7 per 10,000 inhabitants.
