The German Die Zeit writes, citing experts and business representatives, that German retail chains warn against a significant increase in the prices of meat, cold cuts and butter.
According to the president of the German Trade Union, Josef Sanktjohanser, the increase in all price tags in supermarkets will not be a short-term trend.
Aldi’s communications director also warned of rising product prices. This was due to new supplier prices due to energy and fertilizer problems.
At the same time, retail chains say that there will be no shortage of deliveries in the near future. According to the president of the Union of German Farmers, Joachim Rukvid, the country will not run out of food during the year, but it is difficult to plan for a longer period — RIA Novosti informs.
Let us recall that Western countries have imposed sanctions on Russia in connection with a special operation of demilitarization and de-Nazification of Ukraine. They mainly affected the banking sector and the sphere of high technologies. However, the disruption of technology chains has led to economic problems in Europe and the United States, notably higher food and fuel prices.
