The Bank of Russia entered a new participant in the register of payment systems — Hello, according to the regulator’s materials. The operator of the new system services is Transcapitalbank.
As of February 1, it was 38th in terms of assets among Russian banks.
The system side itself indicates that Hello is a collection of payment services and organizations for money transfers. The last time Rosselkhozbank became the owner of its own payment system in December 2020. In 2018, Gazprombank registered PS. In March, the bank launched its own payment service, GazpromPay. It will run on any mobile operating system and doesn’t require a separate app download.
From March 10, Visa and Mastercard payment systems ceased to work in the Russian Federation. Their cards, issued by Russian banks, operate domestically but have become unavailable abroad. At the same time, foreign PS data cards stopped working in Russia.
