According to the Federal Bailiff Service, fraudsters pretending to be bailiffs began to attack people en masse. There have been cases of fraud under the guise of bailiffs in Chechnya.
Attackers send e-mails to citizens about the presence of a debt that needs to be urgently paid off. The false notices also include enforcement measures in the form of seizure of bank accounts and property in the event of default on debt. Fraudsters can send you a debt repayment link in which you must enter the details of citizens’ bank cards. These messages also ask you to click on a link to find out the details of the debt. After clicking on the link, it offers him / her to download a file with the virus. The malicious program allows fraudsters to gain access to citizens’ personal data and their bank card details.
To ensure safe work with e-mail, the Federal Bailiff Service does not recommend clicking on links that are long or created using the link shortening services: bit.ly, tinyurl.com and the like. Internet users are not advised to click on links from the letter, if they are replaced with words, and not to hover the mouse over them and browse the full address of the pages.
Fake websites may copy the design of the official website of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia and the interface of the Enforcement Data Bank service. Discrepancies between official and fake addresses may be minimal and differ by one character.
The Bailiff Service reminded that the notice of the initiation of enforcement proceedings is sent to citizens by post or to a personal account on the portal of the State Services, if the user submits an appropriate request for sending him or her in electronic form, legally significant notifications.
Reliable information about the presence of the debt can be obtained using the «Bank of enforcement proceedings data» on the official website of the Federal Bailiff Service, including the official website of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for the Chechen Republic (https: //r20.fssp.gov.ru/), and also through the portal of state services and the free mobile application «FSSP».
Debt repayment can only be repaid through the Government Service Portal or by generating a debt repayment receipt from any credit institution. On the official website of the Office, there is also an internet reception department.
