The government of the Russian Federation has earmarked additional funds for insurance payments to social and medical workers assisting patients with COVID-19. This was reported by the press service of the cabinet, reports RIA Novosti.
«More than 3.3 billion rubles will be allocated to insurance payments for medical workers who help patients with coronavirus infection. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin» — reads the report.
It is emphasized that under the President’s order, doctors, middle and junior medical personnel, as well as ambulance drivers who themselves became infected while helping the sick, are entitled to additional insurance guarantees.
«An order was also signed to allocate more than 2.2 billion rubles to special social benefits for doctors working in military units, internal affairs bodies, fire brigades and other departments. Like civilian medical personnel, they provide assistance to the sick and risk their own. By the decision of the president, doctors receive special social benefits. , paramedics and junior medical workers, paramedics, as well as ambulance drivers in contact with COVID-19 patients.
It is emphasized that over 2.5 billion rubles have also been allocated to payments for employees of social institutions who work with coronavirus patients and people at risk. These benefits are intended for people caring for the residents of nursing homes, boarding houses for the disabled and other social organizations.
“The situation with the coronavirus has improved, but there are still cases. Patients with this infection are still helped by doctors, paramedical staff and junior medical personnel, ambulance drivers.
