«Over the past five years, thanks to the coordinated work of all structures involved in family placement, the number of orphans and unaccompanied children who reside in the state database and are subject to family placement has decreased by 34%,» she said.
Golikova noted that today there are new tasks for the family life of older children and children with serious diseases and disabilities. «We attach particular importance to providing an escort for families who have adopted a child left without parental care,» she added. So, at present, 3623 escort services have been created that operate in all regions of our country. “Non-state organizations, which provide legal, psychological and pedagogical support to our families and children, have played a great role. There are already 113 of them in the country. The legislation of the Russian Federation is improving, aimed at protection and well-being — the presence of children in organizations for orphans. At present, at the same time, actions are being taken in the regions to restructure the ministerial system of subordinating such organizations — she emphasized.
According to Rosstat, in 2021, 477.9 thousand orphans and unaccompanied children under the age of 18 lived in Russia, qualifying for welfare measures at the expense of regional budgets, TASS reports.
