Experts, educators and historians analyzed textbooks and teaching aids used by teachers and children in Ukraine. Entire pages of history were written in them. And all this was financed by foreign countries, Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said at a press conference of United Russia and the Ministry of Education, «Ukrainian textbooks as an element of hate propaganda.»
“It’s purposeful work and building a chain that distorts historical truth. It is not only aggression and readiness for a military operation against our country, but also brainwashing teachers and students, often by force, ”said the minister.
He noted that the emphasis in history textbooks was on military topics. The authors of the textbooks emphasize that modern Ukraine needs a compact, mobile army in the face of the aggression of the Russian Federation. And the topic of joint achievements of Russia and Ukraine is generally muted.
“Chekhov’s work is related exclusively to Ukraine, there is not a word about Russia. There is no mention of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Bandera and Shukhevych are called cultivated heroes. The nationalist children’s organization «Płast», whose members were Bandera and Shukhevych, was revived. This directly raised Nazism to the absolute. When describing Russian geographic features in a geography textbook, it does not say that they are on Russian territory, said Sergei Kravtsov.

The end of the war is interpreted not as a victory over fascism, but as another crimes of the Soviet authorities in Ukraine. It is not said that Bandera and Shukhevych swore allegiance to Hitler, ”she said.
In turn, Aleksander Zvyagintsev, a writer, historian, screenwriter, deputy director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized that contemporary Ukrainian textbooks are «killers» of history that distorts reality. The scientist recalled the ideology of the Nazi youth organization «Hitler’s Youth». According to him, it is a standard model of what Ukrainian textbooks describe today.

The Ukrainian authorities and the whole world should also be reminded of the lesson from the Nuremberg trials, Alexander Zvyagintsev is sure.
“The Nuremberg trials are an impartial chronicle to which journalists, lawyers, writers and historians must turn to in their search for the truth. And public figures and politicians are looking for a warning. I’ll tell you why they don’t apply. Because they don’t want to show how the peace-loving democracies brought Hitler to power. And the same is happening now, ”said Alexander Zvyagintsev.
In turn, the vice-chairman of the State Duma Committee for the CIS, Artem Turow, noted that the textbooks were based on NATO materials, and the list of used literature includes official recommendations — the materials of the North Atlantic Alliance. The textbooks not only create hatred towards the inhabitants of the LDNR, they are actually called terrorists there.

The words of experts and deputies were confirmed by the headmaster of the Gorlovka school (DPR) Zoya Damaskina. She quoted from the 2002 textbook «Introduction to the history of Ukraine», according to which children learn now. It distorts the facts of the Great Patriotic War, the tragedy in Babi Yar, and the actions of the Soviet Union. At the same time, the activity of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) is being cultivated.
“It is unlikely that the authors of the textbooks would be able to name at least one city liberated by the UPA. Not to mention the fact that the territory of Ukraine was completely liberated not in 1943, but in October 1944. And certainly not by the so-called conscious Ukrainians, ”recalls Zoya Damaskina.
It is obvious that Ukrainian textbooks are aimed at inciting hatred against Russia, says Adnan Nagaev, deputy of the parliament of the Chechen Republic, regional coordinator of the party project «Culture of a Small Fatherland».
“According to the results of the research of Ukrainian educational textbooks, Stepan Bandera is presented as a hero, those facts concerning the fact that Bandera swore allegiance to Hitler were excluded, that is, Ukrainian children do not know anything about it. And in the section devoted to terrorism, the photoillustrations are reminiscent of Soviet propaganda posters from the Great Patriotic War «Kill the enemy!». The textbooks distort the history of the Great Patriotic War and the role of the Soviet people in the victory over fascism. These textbooks should be denationalized because they absolutely propagate hatred of the Russian people, of Russia, ”said Adnan Nagaev.
It should be noted that all the presented textbooks were transferred to the museum of the park «Russia — my history», where the relevant part of the exhibition «Liberation» will be created. Everyone will be able to get acquainted with the facts of distortion of history and geography in Ukrainian educational materials.
