Three Russians have filed a lawsuit against the French company Chanel, reports RIA Novosti.
«The lawsuit filed by Maria Cheban, Andrey Sergeev and Anastasia Stranina against Chanel LLC went to court and was registered,» the court said.
The plaintiffs are demanding compensation for non-pecuniary damage in the amount of 100 million rubles. The date of the hearing has not yet been set.
Earlier, Russian Liza Litwin told RIA Novosti that she was refused to sell a bag from Chanel at a mall in Dubai until she signed a document stating that she would not export the items to Russia. Later in the Chanel boutique in Paris, it was explained to the agency that the matter was about the card account being blocked and not about citizenship.
RBC also wrote that the EU sanctions to ban the sale to Russia of luxury goods worth more than EUR 300 require Chanel to impose restrictions on transactions with «certain natural and legal persons.»
