According to the operational command’s data published on Saturday, the daily increase in new coronavirus cases in the Russian Federation amounted to 5,500 cases.
As noted, as of May 7 in Russia, the number of hospitalizations per day in Russia amounted to 2,562 people and decreased by 9.9% compared to the previous ones.
An increase in the number of hospitalizations was recorded in 37 entities of the Russian Federation, a decrease in the number of hospitalizations was recorded in 41 regions of the country. The situation has remained unchanged in seven Russian entities, the operational staff said.
Over the last day, 132 people died from coronavirus infection, with 136 reported deaths the day before.
Compared to the previous day, when 5,541 cases were registered in the Russian Federation, the number of new cases of COVID-19 infection has slightly decreased.
8,649 people recovered daily, 8.1% less than on May 6, headquarters said.
In total, during the pandemic, 18,222,219 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia, 376,828 died, and 17,596,716 were released.
