In two years, more than 150,000 containers for selective waste collection were delivered to the regions of Russia. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko.
In 2021-2022, 57 entities of the Russian Federation purchased over 153,000. containers for selective waste collection. At the same time, the purchase plan included 143.3 thousand. containers.
The government of the Russian Federation allocated 2.5 billion rubles for these purposes. Thanks to the funds, the regions purchased containers for the selective collection of glass, metal, paper and plastic waste, which can later be recycled into new products.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that since the beginning of the waste management reform in 2022, 192 waste collection, processing and disposal facilities have been built. As a result, almost 5.5 million tons of waste are processed in the country, and over 19 million tons are sorted.
