The minimum wage (minimum wage) and cost of living (PM) should be indexed in line with real inflation — by 17%, says Nikolai Kolomiejcew, first deputy chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans of the State Duma.
The day before, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced that decisions would soon be made on the indexation of pensions and all social benefits. Izvestia newspaper, citing sources, said the authorities were considering an extraordinary 9% increase in the minimum wage (SMIC) and minimum wage (PM).
“I believe it is imperative to abide by the law on actual inflation. They announced that real inflation is 17%. It must be increased, ”said Kolomiejcew RIA Nowosti.
At the same time, Jarosław Niłow, chairman of the Duma committee for labor, social policy and veterans’ affairs, noted that this issue should be approached very «scrupulously». “We need to calculate the real cost increases for staples, drugs and non-food items. And we see the national currency soaring, the dollar rising and then falling, and the prices rising and then falling. Now the situation is more stable, but the prices have risen. We have to count it — said the MP in an interview with RIA Novosti.
