Criminals communicate with their victims by phone and provide an account number at one of the Russian banks for money transfers, according to the department’s official website in Telegram.
According to the Federal Service for Healthcare Supervision, fraudulent cases have recently emerged more and more frequently in the regions: attackers impersonating fictitious names or names of Roszdravnadzor employees extort money from people, offering in return false benefits, material compensation for allegedly poor-quality treatment or previously purchased supplements diets and medications.

«Roszdravnadzor officially declares that the Service’s competence covers only control and supervisory activities in the field of healthcare, and the department’s employees are not empowered to demand money from citizens,» the department said.
Roszdravnadzor also called on citizens to be vigilant and report all similar cases to law enforcement or the Federal Healthcare Surveillance Service at (499) 578-01-06, by email info@roszdravnadzor.gov.ru, and to the Territorial Office of the Roszdravnadzor authorities in the place of residence.
