Роспотребнадзор: в России 11 недель наблюдается снижение заболеваемости COVID-19

The decline in the incidence of coronavirus has been observed in Russia for 11 weeks, but the rate of decline is gradually declining, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.

The head of the department, Anna Popova, held a teleconference on Wednesday with the departments and institutions of Rospotrebnadzor in the subjects of the Russian Federation.

«A downward trend in incidence has been observed in the country over the past 11 weeks, but the rate of decline in incidence is gradually declining,» the report reads.

According to last week’s results, 50,820 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Russia, the incidence rate was 34.63 per 100,000 people, which is 16.2% less than last week. A surplus of average Russian incidence rates has been recorded in 40 regions, the department noted.

The decline in the intensity of the epidemiological process for COVID-19 is observed throughout Russia, but in some regions the situation remains unfavorable, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.

«Overall, there is a gradual decline in the intensity of the epidemic process across the country, but the unfavorable situation remains in some regions,» the report reads.

Of the confirmed cases of coronavirus in Russia, 93.2% are omicron variants, 2% are delta, the Rospotrebnadzor press service reported, RIA Novosti reports.
