«There is no one who would like the outbreak of World War III, we hope that all interested parties will remain calm and restrained, will not allow the situation to escalate and achieve peace as soon as possible,» said the diplomat.
He stressed that in the current situation all parties must first and foremost conduct dialogue and negotiations to prevent the spread and prolongation of the conflict.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov hoped on Channel One that Western countries would heed Vladimir Zelensky’s calls to send NATO troops to Ukraine in line with their own constant assurances that the start of World War III was unacceptable, RIA Novosti reports.
