The relevant decree was signed by Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to a statement posted on the website of the Russian government.
The current export quotas for Russian producers of mineral fertilizers have been temporarily increased by 501,000. t. The decision will be effective until May 31, 2022 inclusive.
The measure concerns complex fertilizers containing 2 or 3 nutrients — nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Now the size of the export quota for them is about 6.1 million tons.
These activities are necessary to support producers who are exposed to the risk of downtime due to the low demand for fertilizers on the domestic market and the sanctions of hostile countries.
Until May 31, the quotas do not apply to the supply of fertilizers to Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic, as well as to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
