May 19, 2022. The National Library of the Chechen Republic named after A. Aidamirov had a fruitful conversation on the promotion of reading.
Present at the scientific-practical seminar held under the auspices of the Russian Committee of the UNESCO program «Information for All» with the participation of the regional executive authorities in the field of education and culture, the Chechen State Pedagogical University and the main library of the republic, spoke with genuine interest and anxiety about the attitude of adolescents generations to read as the best science.
In his welcome speech, Deputy Chairman of the Seym of the Chechen Republic, BA Khazbulatov, expressing gratitude to the organizers of the forum on behalf of the chairman of the highest legislative body of the Hero of Russia, M.Kh. Daudov noted that the topic under discussion was topical both in the country-wide format and in the Chechen Republic. This is due to many objective and subjective factors. Of key importance are paradigmatic changes in education — he continued — where the necessary interpenetration and mutual enrichment of the educational, IT, scientific and informational spheres does not take place, and technological rather than substantive aspects of literacy prevail. Against this background, various events are organized to draw young people’s attention to the benefits of reading. For example, in our republic, on the initiative of the Minister of Culture, AR Kadyrov, the «Reading is fashionable» campaign was held, which, importantly, appears to be a harbinger of a large-scale process that creates a system for supporting and developing reading.
The speech of the Minister of Education and Science Kh-B was also present in the search for a solution to the identified problem. Daaev, who spoke about the problems resulting from the lack of system-forming concepts in curricula, delays in introducing children and young people to basic cultural resources, the advantage of superficial reading in the educational process, and the lack of interest among teachers in the socialization and education of young students.
