On October 8, 2022, an open tournament of free-style republican wrestling among youth 2005-2006, 2009-2010, 2011-2012, 2013-2014 was held in Shala, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The tournament was held as part of the federal project «Sport is the norm of life» of the nationwide project «Demographics», the aim of which is to popularize free-style wrestling, promote a healthy lifestyle and improve sports competition. This tournament was attended by two students of the State Budgetary Institution «Sharoy District High School», one of whom emerged victorious and took
1st place in the 30 kg weight category. Islamov Khamzat, whose coach is Islamov Islam Akhmedovich.
