Meta обжаловала решение суда Москвы о запрете ее деятельности

The Meta company (recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) has appealed against the Moscow court’s decision to ban its activity as an extremist organization. Previously, interested parties lodged two complaints against the court’s decision, the press service of Tverskoy Court reported.

«Meta has appealed against the decision to ban its activities as an extremist organization,» said the agency’s interlocutor, adding that a deadline for dealing with complaints had yet to be set.

In March, the Tverskoy Court in Moscow, following a lawsuit by the Prosecutor General’s Office, declared the activities of the Meta Platforms Instagram and Facebook to be extremist and banned them in Russia. The reason for the appeal of the General Prosecutor’s Office to the court was the temporary lifting of the ban on residents of several countries from posting information containing incitement to violence against Russian citizens. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case for inciting violence and murdering Russians in connection with the actions of the company’s employees. It was decided not to limit the work of the WhatsApp messenger.
