69 countries confirmed their participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) this year, city governor Alexander Beglov said in an interview with the annual report to deputies of the city’s Legislative Assembly.
“I would like to inform you that 69 countries confirmed their participation in the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg in June this year. And the conclusions keep coming. An economic forum will take place, «Beglov said, reports RIA Novosti.
SPIEF has been held annually since 1997. Since 2005, the Forum has been held under the patronage and participation of the President of the Russian Federation.
In 2021, SPIEF became the first and largest face-to-face business meeting in the world after a forced break due to the coronavirus pandemic and using modern digital technologies. During the four days of his work, the Forum was attended by over 13,500 participants from 141 countries, including representatives of over 1,000 media organizations from 46 countries. They include heads of state and government, heads of major companies, and the world’s leading experts from academia and civil society.
In 2022, Egypt will be a guest of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The paths of the business program will traditionally be devoted to issues of the world and Russian economy, social issues and the development of technology.
