The headquarters will operate as a single focal point — from solving logistical problems when delivering humanitarian aid to regulating the laws of Russia and the LDNR.
United Russia has set up a humanitarian cooperation headquarters to help Donbass. In addition to the relevant ministries, it will include deputies, representatives of people’s republics, and volunteers, said Andrei Turczak, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the party, at the meeting of the Presidium of the Supreme Council. He headed the work of the staff of the deputy secretary of the Main Council of the party, vice-chairman of the State Duma Anna Kuznetsova.
“At the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, we relied on a network of voluntary party volunteering centers in the regions. A little later, humanitarian centers were opened in Donbass — one in Donetsk and three in Mariupol. In the beginning, this resource was sufficient. However, now that our features expand, it has become obvious that we cannot do without additional infrastructure. We receive a huge number of different appeals and requests from the people of Donbas. We interact with different departments more and more often. The functionality of the volunteers is also expanding, ”said Andriy Turchak.
He emphasized that the activities of the headquarters will cover a wide range of issues. These are the logistical issues of delivering humanitarian aid, coordinating the activities of volunteers, and responding quickly to other requests for help. The command will also contribute to the legal support of humanitarian operations, and will also work to harmonize the laws of Russia and the LDNR.
One of the tasks is to ensure the continuity of the work carried out so far after the end of the special military operation — emphasized Andrei Turczak.
“For thousands of companies and hundreds of caring entrepreneurs sending aid to Donbas, our regional offices have become the starting point. They help with logistics and find those estates where business assistance is most needed. This interaction turned out to be successful. As part of the work of the headquarters, I propose to maintain this scheme of cooperation through the regional branches of the party, ”said the secretary of the General Council.
He also noted that United Russia has already provided Donbas with over 7.2 thousand. tonnes of humanitarian aid, including 100 tonnes of drugs. More than 60% of all humanitarian deliveries to the people of Donbass come from the aid collected by the party.
«We will continue this work until the peaceful life in Donbas is fully restored,» Andrei Turchak emphasized.
On the eve of the Minister of the Chechen Republic for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information, Akhmed Dudayev, deputy secretary of the Chechen branch of United Russia for project activities, said that the Chechen Republic had sent almost 1,000 jobs to the Donbas. tons of aid — these are primary and secondary food products, medicines, building materials, household chemicals, clothing.
“In addition, medical equipment, armored vehicles and military uniforms for employees were transferred from our region. The organization of humanitarian aid for the Donbass, as well as for refugees staying in temporary accommodation centers in the regions of Russia, is carried out by the Regional Public Foundation named after The hero of Russia, Akhmat Kadyrov. Our representatives — as part of volunteer groups of doctors on the battlefields in the LDNR, in the unit of volunteers of the United Russia’s Young Guard, there are also activists from the Chechen Republic. Aid for Donbas has been provided on an ongoing basis since the first days of the special military operation in Ukraine. The leader of the Chechen Republic, member of the Supreme Council of United Russia, Ramzan Kadyrov, keeps this matter under personal control, ”quotes Akhmed Dudayev.
The secretary of the General Council also said that United Russia will help restore Eternal Lights in Donbas. This work will be organized as part of the implementation of the party-initiated law on the free supply of gas to the Eternal Lights and Remembrance Lights, unanimously approved by the Federation Council.
“It is necessary not only to ensure the proper condition of all Eternal Flames and Memory Flames in our country, but also to carry out an inventory and inventory of the Eternal Flame complexes in the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. Including in liberated areas. Where these monuments are destroyed or abandoned, help is needed to rebuild them. I am asking you to join this work of our colleagues assigned to the territories — Dmitry Sablin and Wiktor Vodolatsky, and to cooperate here with the «Victory Volunteers» and the «Brotherhood Volunteer Company» — he said.
Let us recall that from the very first day of the evacuation, United Russia’s Central Executive Committee and the party’s regional branches began collecting humanitarian aid for citizens evacuated from the DPR and LPR. Within two months, the regional branches of the party collected about 7,200 tons of humanitarian cargo and handed them over to distribution centers in Russia, LDNR and the liberated territories, mainly in Mariupol. On March 24, the first United Russia humanitarian center was opened in the Metro supermarket building. Today, there are already nine such facilities — at school no. 5, on the EKO market, and in many shops in the city on both banks.
These centers organize the distribution of food and basic necessities, medicines and hygiene products. Here you can also get SIM cards from local cellular operators and charge your phones — there is still no electricity in many places in the city.
Representatives of offices and offices also work here, helping people to apply for benefits and pensions, find a job and recover lost documents. Humanitarian center volunteers organize activities with children and provide psychological help to citizens.
In addition, United Russia has opened a medical center in the Levoberezhny district of Mariupol. It employs 16 doctors of various profiles. Up to 250 people a day come to the reception desk. Doctors also travel to hard-to-reach districts of the city, evacuating the wounded and sick and providing them with medical care.
