The Bank of Russia will set the official exchange rates for the dollar, euro and yuan at the weighted average exchange rate on the Moscow Stock Exchange between 10.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Moscow time. This is specified in the regulator’s message.
“The Bank of Russia changed the procedure for calculating official exchange rates…. The US dollar against the ruble will be calculated on the basis of the weighted average US dollar against the ruble data of the Moscow Stock Exchange for transactions concluded between 10.00 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on the use of a methodology similar to the calculation of the official US dollar exchange rate.
The regulator noted that the new methodology would ensure «business continuity in the territory of the Russian Federation».
