Saint Petersburg scientists have designed a safe and durable refusal-muscle system for the production of industrial manipulators.

The pneumatic muscle mechanism has a huge advantage over the conventional pneumatic cylinder drive that is used everywhere. It is worth noting that it has smoother speed regulation, and the control scheme created by scientists allows you to balance the load at any point. At the same time, its price is lower.

In addition, this pneumothorax manipulator has a stronger effect than competitors with a relatively low weight. The lifting device based on it can be used for loading timber in the forest, removing debris during rescue operations and placing goods in the warehouse. It is particularly useful in polluted, humid, explosive and radiation environments where human presence is not safe.

The study was conducted as part of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia «Priority 2030» — one of the measures of state support for universities under the national project «Science and Universities».
