“Ensuring the country’s technological sovereignty and economic security are priority goals set by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Student Startup competition has become one of the tools to solve them,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Valeriy Falkov, emphasized that there are already 60 Entrepreneurial Boiling Points, 151 accelerators and 19 startup studies at universities, which are developed by project teams and student initiatives.
“Today, the approach to preparing students has changed radically in Russian universities. The modern economy needs new-style specialists who are able to come up with a business idea and turn it into a real product, service or technology,” said Valery Falkov.
Program participants are selected in 7 thematic areas: digital technologies, medicine and health protection technologies, chemical technologies and new materials, new devices and intelligent production technologies, biotechnology, resource-efficient energy and creative industries.
Let us remind you that in 2022, 1,000 students received support. This year, the number of scholarship recipients has increased to 1,500. It is planned to increase the number of scholarship recipients to 2,000 in 2024 and to 30,000 by the end of 2030.
This competition is organized by the Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation as part of the federal project «University Technological Platform of Entrepreneurship».
