From January 16 to February 5, 2023, a «Numbers Lesson» will be held in all schools of the Russian Federation, dedicated to technologies that predict atmospheric phenomena. The strategic partner and creator of its content is Yandex.
The project is regularly implemented by ANO Tsifrovaya Ekonomiczna, the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia and the Ministry of Education of Russia in cooperation with key Russian IT companies.
In special lessons, children are explained what a meteorologist, data engineer, data analyst, computational mathematician, machine learning specialist and project manager do. They also learn what weather radars and weather balloons are for, what to do about miscalculations, how data is sifted and how AI helps with this.
You can start classes at any time: at school with a teacher or at home, alone or with your parents. In total, the lesson lasts from 10 to 30 minutes and will organically fit into the school curriculum in computer science, geography, natural history or mathematics. The tasks are divided into three levels of difficulty depending on the age of the students: for younger, middle and older grades.
It is worth noting that the Numbers Lesson has been held in Russia since 2018. As part of the project, leading IT companies develop lessons that are available for both school and self-study. Classes help students navigate the world of technology and programming professions.
