The new version of the list of vehicle faults for which the traffic police punishes their drivers has been agreed by experts and is ready for approval by the Russian government. AutoVzglyad writes about it.
Members of the «Road Safety» working group approved a new and most likely final version of the list of defects, the presence of which means an automatic prohibition of the car’s operation.
Currently, this list includes excessive tinting of the side and front windows, the installation of LEDs in halogen headlights, as well as several other faults. If the traffic inspector finds something from this list, the driver may be fined 500 rubles.
The new list will add driving from December to February on summer tires and from June to August on studded tyres. A similar fine will also be issued for broken brake lights, reversing lights and a broken ABS icon on the car’s dashboard. As well as for the removed «wizard» — the brake force regulator, writes «AvtoVzglyad».
In addition, the traffic police of the Russian Federation received approval of another list of faults. Thus, if any of the faults listed in it are detected, the vehicle will be immediately sent to the police station, and the driver will be instructed to rectify the technical faults within a few days. Among them: the same «dimming» and inoperative parking brake with ABS, inoperative power steering, unadjusted headlights, non-burning brake light, «bald» or damaged tires, missing or inoperative seat belt, as well as the destruction of suspension parts and the lack of a tachograph.
