Popowicza Street will be renovated in Grozny as part of the national Safe High-Quality Roads project.
When selecting roads for renovation under the nationwide project «Safe High-Quality Roads», the condition of the roadway, traffic intensity, as well as the proximity of socially and touristically important places of the city are assessed.
The most significant object, both according to road workers and local residents, is Popowicza Street. Its length is 1100 meters. The road is of great social importance as it leads to the Grozny railway station. The main problem was the poor condition of the road. Also along Popowicza Street there is kindergarten No. 2 «Spikelet».
The contractor is to lay asphalt on an area of 9,820 sq m. 49 road signs will also be installed, horizontal markings will be used — 3,390 running meters, and artificial unevenness will be set up, forcing vehicles to slow down. For the safety of pedestrians, the organization of 3 pedestrian crossings has been provided.
Currently, a contractor for renovation works has been selected and contracts have been signed. Renovation works will start in accordance with the road works schedule in September 2023.
