There is no question of a legislative study of the possibility of introducing a 4-day working week in Russia, it is irrelevant — said the chairman of the Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Committee in the State Duma Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR faction).
«Once again, about my position on the potential 4-day meeting. First of all: the topic has been discussed for several years, but has not yet taken a specific shape. We are not even talking about developing such a possibility for a legislative initiative» — wrote on Tuesday on his Telegram channel .
Nilov noted that the reason for this was «irrelevant.»
«So why are they talking about it? Because, in part, the four-day period is already rolling through the labor market. No legislative doping. The pandemic played a big role here: some companies have mastered the format through remote working. Without losing employees’ wages and without compromising productivity. And someone who does. works like this — the MP noted.
At the same time, he reminded about enterprises in a continuous cycle — «eg. switching to a shorter working week is contraindicated for rescuers for objective reasons ”.
“Therefore, the four-day format requires an extremely synergistic, balanced approach. There is no compulsion here. Exceptionally natural self-regulation of the labor market, ”emphasized Nilov.
At the same time, he emphasized that with the development of technology, «the release of a temporary resource for an employee is an increasingly less distant prospect.»
“This means that the reduced working week is a matter of the near future. Do you need to prepare for it? You can and should invest in your head and profession. And then the shortening of working time will not mean a decrease in income, but an extension of development opportunities, ”the head of the committee emphasized.
In the spring of last year, the head of the labor ministry, Anton Kotiakov, stated that the ministry does not yet see any special reasons for switching to a four-day working week, informs Interfax.
