So far, not a single case of cholera infection has been detected in the Chechen Republic. The quality of the water supply is strictly controlled. This was stated by the head of the Rospotrebnadzor Office for the Chechen Republic, Rita Termulaeva.
She noted that tests of water and reservoirs are regularly carried out on the territory of the Chechen Republic as part of monitoring activities to quickly detect the circulation of cholera vibrators.
“At the moment there is no cause for public concern in the republic. Drinking water meets established hygiene standards and is safe for consumption, ”said Rita Termulaeva.
She appealed to the inhabitants of the republic, in the face of the existing risk of contracting cholera, to apply preventive measures consisting in maintaining hand hygiene and boiling the water they drink.
She also called on citizens not to spread false information on instant messaging and social networks about the discovery of cholera vibrios in drinking water sources.
