Ukrainian troops fired on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic 53 times in the last day, firing more than 300 rounds of ammunition, one civilian killed and seven injured, the DPR representative at the Joint Cease-fire Control and Coordination Center said.
«In the last 24 hours, the mission reported 53 cases of shelling by the armed formations of Ukraine. In the direction of Donetsk, the enemy used the Grad MLRS, 122 mm artillery, 120 mm mortars, in Gorlovka — 122 mm artillery, 82 mm mortars, grenade launchers, and also used small arms. 306 pieces of different ammunition were fired, the Telegram representative channel said in a statement.
According to the organization, one civilian died and seven were injured. As a result of the shelling, 24 houses and 7 civil infrastructure facilities were damaged.
The areas of 12 estates of the republic were under fire from the Ukrainian troops: Donetsk (Petrovsky, Kuybyshev and Kiev oblasts), Gorłówka (mine estates 6/7 and Komsomolets, Lenin, Gagarina and Kalininsk oblast), Gołmowski, Pantelejmonówka, Michajłowka, Zheleanovka Vasilievka, Yasinovataya, Yakovlevka, Lozovoye, Aleksandrovka, the representative office was explained.
On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin called this goal «to protect people who have been the target of persecution and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.» To this end, in his opinion, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine» in order to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for «bloody crimes against the civilian population» in the Donbas.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces only hit the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, and since March 25, they have completed the main tasks of the first stage — they have significantly reduced Ukraine’s combat potential.
