Песков назвал слухи об объявлении "мобилизации" 9 мая чушью

President’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, called on not to trust the reports of Western publications that on May 9 they could announce a general mobilization in Russia.

«That’s not true, that’s nonsense,» assured the official.

Last week, the British defense minister on the LBC TV channel reported that Vladimir Putin allegedly plans to announce a general mobilization in Russia on Victory Day. Later, similar information was disseminated by the British Daily Mail and the American TV station CNN.

At the same time, the official representative of the Ministry of National Defense, Igor Konashenkov, emphasized that only officers and military personnel serving under a contract in the rank of privates and sergeants were involved in the special operation in Ukraine.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. Putin called his goal «to protect people who had been the target of intimidation and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.»

According to the Ministry of National Defense, the Russian army only hits the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, the main tasks of the first stage have been completed — Ukraine’s combat potential has been significantly reduced. The main goal in the department was called the liberation of Donbas, reports RIA Novosti.
