Russian authorities will allocate an additional 5.5 billion rubles to the production of domestic films, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
At a meeting with deputy prime ministers, Mishustin recalled that over 9 billion rubles were allocated in the federal budget to support the industry this year.
“At the December meeting, we discussed the cinematography issues in detail in the government and it was decided to provide additional help. We will allocate another 5.5 billion rubles for the production of domestic films, ”he said.
Thus, this year the film industry will receive over 14.5 billion rubles — the prime minister stressed.
“We all hope that such activities will allow us to launch the production of dozens of new projects. They will include full-length large-format films for mass audiences, for family viewing, non-fiction films, and short films. to film the debut work of budding directors who are just finishing their education at universities, ”said Miszustin.
He expressed the conviction that new Russian films will find their audience, incl. among young people, reports RIA Novosti.
