The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation informed that due to the increase in the price of paper, universities may independently allow students to submit their final qualification work on a digital medium.
«The Education Act stipulates that material and technical support for universities is within the competence of universities … Thus, the issue of the possibility of preparing and defending a job in electronic form on a digital medium for universities» — reads the message.
The Ministry of Education and Science explained that the procedure for conducting the state final certificate for higher education programs, the type of final qualification work, the requirements for it, as well as the procedure for its implementation and the criteria for its evaluation are determined by the organization independently in accordance with the requirements set out in the standard.
The regulation on the specifics of conducting intermediate and final certification in 2021/2022 gives universities the right to conduct intermediate and final certification using distance learning technology, the press service reported, RIA Novosti reports.
