This was said by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova.
“Point 34 of the Plan project (events within the Cultural Heritage Year) provides for the development of funds for state support for creative projects of national and folklore groups. By analogy with the subsidy of the government of the Russian Federation for theaters and academic musicians, for the first time we are proposing to establish subsidies for folklore and folklore groups supporting the national cultures of the peoples of Russia, said the minister.
According to Lyubimova, subsidies will become «a significant and regular means of supporting industry from 2023 onwards.»
“The total amount of the grant is 100 million rubles. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation will declare this need when formulating proposals for the draft budget, ”she added.
On December 31, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to celebrate the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia in order to preserve traditions, monuments and ethnic and cultural diversity, reports RIA Novosti.
