МИД: Россия будет сотрудничать со странами Азии, не присоединившимися к санкциями

Reorientation of Moscow’s foreign strategy towards the East is an objective process, Moscow will strengthen cooperation with countries that have not joined the sanctions, said Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.

“The reorientation of our foreign economic strategy to the East has not started today. This process is objective in nature and is mainly due to the transformation of the Asia-Pacific region into the engine of global economic development, ”Morgulov said.

He stressed that «since 2010, the share of Asia and the Pacific in Russia’s foreign trade has more than tripled and by 2022 it exceeded 30%».

“This creates a solid basis for further building cooperation with Asian partners who have not joined the anti-Russian sanctions. Among them are not only China, which I have already mentioned, but also an economic giant like India, the main regional economic players. — Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries — said the deputy minister.

«All these dynamically developing economies are interested in increasing the supply of a wide range of Russian goods — energy raw materials, fertilizers, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-quality food, engineering products, as well as filling market niches that are abandoned in our country» — concluded Morgulov. reports RIA Nowosti.
