The State Construction and Legislation Committee of the State Duma recommends the adoption at first reading of the draft law providing for the introduction of criminal liability up to 10 years in prison for the implementation of anti-Russian sanctions by heads of trade and other organizations.
The draft proposes to supplement the second part of Art. 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Abuse of Power», which provides for criminal liability for the use by a person holding managerial positions in an economic organization or other organization of his powers contrary to the provisions of the legitimate interests of this organization and for the purpose of benefiting and benefiting himself or others or causing harm other persons, a new qualifying mark.
Thus, acts committed to comply with foreign sanctions will be punished with a fine of up to one million rubles or imprisonment for up to 10 years, with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or perform specific activities for up to three years.
