At its plenary session on Tuesday, the State Duma adopted in three readings the government law aimed at allocating additional budget seats to master’s programs which are of priority importance to the Russian economy.
It is indicated that the document was created to fulfill the instructions of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on measures to support the Russian economy in the face of the pressure of external sanctions.
The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to foresee the possibility of allocating additional state-funded places for master’s studies by revising the admission objectives for these courses.
«Given the difficult economic situation, it is important to provide citizens with the opportunity to obtain a higher education in a graduate program at the expense of the federal budget, including the fact that such education will give students the right to receive state study grants as well as apply for a place in a hostel ”, — stated in the explanatory material, informs RIA Novosti.
