Yunus Abdulshaidov was visited by the Senator of the Federation Council of the Chechen Republic, Mokhmad Akhmadov, the chairman of the Regional Executive Committee of the Chechen regional branch of the United Russia party Adlan Dinaev, deputies of the parliament of the Chechen Republic Musa Demilkhanov and Zabek Rashaev and others.
As part of the all-Russian campaign «Gifts for a Veteran», initiated by federal projects of the United Russia Party for Historical Remembrance and the Older Generation, the veteran received food parcels with fruit, sweet pastries, as well as financial aid from the Regional Public Fund. “Yunus Abdulshaidov represents the generation of victors who, with their courage and incredible deeds, achieved historical justice, achieved a Great Victory over fascism. Yunus Abdulshaidov also received telephone congratulations from deputies of the State Duma Adam Delimkhanov, Shamsail Saraliev, Ruslan Lechkhadzhiev and Akhmed Dogaev, as well as the senator of the Federation Council from the Chechen Republic, Suleiman Geremeev.
Yunus Abdulshaidov, who celebrated his 100th birthday last summer, has around 30 awards to his credit, including the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War of the Second Degree and the Medal for Courage.
“We wish our veteran good health and longevity, that he will remain in the same joyful mood with which he welcomes guests — with a smile and kindness. I would like to remind you that United Russia is taking measures at the federal level to counteract historical falsifications, where the contribution of our motherland to the Great Victory is increasingly distorted. The head of the Chechen Republic, a member of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Hero of Russia party, Ramzan Kadyrov, defined one of his priority tasks — preserving the historical truth, work in this direction is being carried out on a full scale, — said Adlan Dinaev.
Abdulshaidov Yunus Abdulshaidovich was drafted into the Red Army in 1941. He took part in the defense of Voronezh, fought as part of the North-Western Front near Old Russia, then studied at a regimental school as a mortar. He was wounded near Bolkhov (Oryol district). After the hospital in 1944, he entered the military medical school in Izhevsk, from which he was expelled, and was also released from the Red Army after the deportation of Chechens to Central Asia.
