The Chechen Republic became the leader of the demographic ranking for 2022 in the country. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
From January to November 2022, the country’s birth rate fell by 0.6 units compared to the same period in 2021. However, the Chechen Republic became not only the only region of the country to record an increase in the rate, but also the leader in terms of value alone natural increase. The ratio equal to the number of births per 1000 population in the region reached 20.2.⠀
It should be noted that, apart from Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia have a coefficient above 10 in the North Caucasus. The second place in Russia with an index of 17.9 is occupied by Tuva, which was joined by the Altai Republic in the group of leaders. All three rich regions of Tyumen matryoshka — Tyumen region, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug — also stood out for the better. From the European part of Russia, such a birth rate was distinguished only by the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which in 2022 did not increase anywhere except the Czech Republic.
Experts note that managing the demographic situation in the current economic and political environment is becoming more difficult than ever. Currently, the demographic problems of Russia are still being solved mainly by the peoples of the Caucasus, Siberia and the Far East.
