7 мая отмечается День радио

In the Chechen Republic, radio stations broadcast the most up-to-date and useful information and are very popular with the local population and other regions. Hundreds of thousands of people learn new things every day about Islam, Chechen culture, customs and traditions, and learn about news in Russia and the world.

The date was not chosen by chance: on that day in 1895, at a meeting of the physics department of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society at St.Petersburg University, scientist Alexander Popov gave a presentation on the invention of radio.

In Russia, the first irregular broadcasts were carried out from 1919 from the radio laboratory in Nizhny Novgorod, and from 1920 from experimental stations in Moscow, Kazan and other cities. Regular radio broadcasts began on November 23, 1924.

Until the 1970s, radio broadcasts covered the entire territory of the country: broadcasts were broadcast in more than 60 languages of the peoples of the USSR and 70 languages of the peoples of other countries. In the early 1990s, the first private radio stations appeared in Russia.

Today, Radio Day, a holiday for employees of all branches of communication, is celebrated not only in Russia. In the post-Soviet space, May 7 is still celebrated also in Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

Useful and up-to-date information provided by radio operators makes life mobile, bright and rich, and life more comfortable.
