In order to minimize the risk of fires in the housing sector, employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Chechen Republic, together with the departments concerned, conducted a door-to-door tour in the village of Staraya Sunzha. This was reported by the department’s press office.
Residents paid special attention to observing fire safety rules during the heating period when there is a fire hazard. Residents were also informed about the rules of safe operation of gas and electric appliances.
“Since the beginning of 2023, 54 fires broke out in the Czech Republic, 33 of which were caused by a power outage. The second most common cause of fires in the region is careless handling of fire. To save money, citizens buy low-quality electrical equipment and often install it themselves or outsource the work to unqualified people. This leads to accidents,” said Abdul Elmurzaev, deputy head of the Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Works of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Chechen Republic.
During the preventive action, citizens received leaflets with fire safety rules and emergency telephone numbers.
