Курс евро на Московской бирже упал ниже 62 рублей впервые с мая 2017 года

The ruble is steadily appreciating at the beginning of the day: the euro has dropped to its lowest in five years, and the dollar is also cheaper, according to data from the Moscow stock exchange.

So the European currency has now dropped to 61.11 ruble — for the first time since April 2017, the American was traded at 63.22. The euro / ruble pair thus fell below the dollar / ruble pair.

But then the euro returned to the level of 66 rubles — by 10:22 Moscow time the rate «tomorrow» was 65.73 rubles (minus 97 kopecks compared to yesterday). At the same time, the dollar decreased by 41 kopecks, to 63.04 ruble.

According to analysts, the exchange rate of the Russian currency is affected by the fact that companies are preparing to pay taxes on May 25-27, which may result in an oversupply of the dollar. Russia’s extremely strong balance of payments is also not without significance.

At the same time, oil prices in the world markets rose after data from the US Department of Energy on an unexpected drop in inventories: July Brent contracts rose to USD 110.63 per barrel, July WTI contracts — to USD 108.12, RIA Novosti reports.
